Why Get Certified?
Heard about primitive reflex integration but unsure how to use it to reach your client’s functional goals? Have you been asked by parents to integrate reflex but don’t know how to get started?
Reflex Integration Through Play’s Certification program will teach you the basics of primitive reflex integration and how to apply it.
- Improve outcomes for your clients, with faster improvements in functional skills
- Increase your clinical knowledge and skill as a therapist and gain confidence in addressing common challenges with your clients
- Earn AOTA approved Continuing Education Units*
- Reduce working hours with a predictable and repeatable process for screening and treating
- Engage parents and caregivers at home and at school to continue their treatment routine
Why Reflex Integration?
Primitive reflexes are foundational, yet involuntary movement patterns present at birth and that become integrated or “dormant” before a child reaches 12 months of age. Most reflexes become integrated so more mature and voluntary movements can emerge.
When reflexes do not become integrated, they interfere with a child’s ability to develop an appropriate foundation for stability and mobility. A child without integrated primitive reflexes learns faulty and maladaptive movement patterns.
You must address retained reflexes in your client to make a lasting change and bridge the gap in their development. You, the trained therapist, can observe these faulty responses by how a child reacts, behaves, and moves and address this interference in reflex integration to help the child recreate activities a typically developing child would have performed to integrate reflexes.
Hey there 👋,
I’m Kokeb—pediatric OT, author, mentor, mother, and creator of Reflex Integration Through Play.
When I discovered reflex integration, I finally found a way to create strong, consistent outcomes by addressing the root causes of a child’s challenges. Over time, I developed a play-based and measurable approach that not only improved results, but also strengthened collaboration with parents and teachers. Best of all, it helped remove the stress of treatment planning.
Join me in this 3-day program and learn how to better serve the children we support every day!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Who is eligible to take the 3-Day RITP Theory Intensive?
The 3-Day Intensive is designed exclusively for licensed therapists: OTs, PTs, SLPs, and COTAs. It is not designed for parents or caregivers. Parents interested in helping their own children can explore the FULL RITP Certification Program or the RITP for Parents course, which provides additional coaching and home-based strategies.
Can I just take the 3-Day Intensive and skip the Application and Implementation?
Yes, you can enroll in the 3-Day Intensive only. You will receive CEUs and hands-on training in reflex integration, but full RITP certification is only granted when you complete the application and implementation part of the training inside the program.
If you choose to continue immediately after the intensive, your tuition for the intensive will be credited toward the full certification package.
How does full certification work?
Full certification requires completing:
- 3-Day Live Virtual Intensive on RITP Theory & Framework (Jan 8–10, 2026)
- Real-life Application and Implementation applying your skills with a real client and participating in live virtual coaching and support calls.
After completing both steps, you will receive your full RITP certification
Are the sessions live or recorded?
The 3-Day Intensive is delivered live virtually so you can interact with Kokeb, ask questions, and participate in hands-on activities.
What are CEUs and how many do I get?
All participants of the 3-Day Intensive are eligible for AOTA Approved CEUs. These credits can be applied toward your professional development requirements. Exact CEU hours are being determined.
Can I pay for just the intensive and decide later about full certification?
Yes. You can start with the 3-Day Intensive and decide after the intensive whether you want to continue to full certification. If you enroll immediately after the intensive, your tuition will be credited toward the full certification package.
What if I cannot do the 6-month coaching right away?
Full certification requires treatment application and access to our mentorship program immediately following the intensive. If your schedule doesn’t allow for that, you can join a waitlist for the next cohort, or schedule a call to discuss your situation. Application must begin within 3 months of completing the 3-Day Intensive. This is to ensure that therapists are able to effectively apply what they have learned.
How is this different from the Self-Paced Certification Program?
The 6-Month Self-Paced Program includes:
- 6 months of self-directed coursework plus additional supplemental trainings
- Immediate access to mentorship and support
- Community support via our online groups only available in the 6-month program
- CEUs and full certification are offered in both programs
The 3-Day Intensive + 6-Month Mentorship fast-tracks the content so you learn the core skills in 3 immersive days and apply them immediately with expert guidance, achieving full certification in just 6 months.
What if I’m a parent or caregiver?
Parents are encouraged to enroll in the RITP for Parents course or the 6-Month Certification Program, which includes more coaching time and guidance for home application. The 3-Day Intensive is reserved for professionals who will be using RITP in clinical practice.
Can I do the mentorship at my own pace?
The mentorship portion is structured to last 6 months, with scheduled coaching calls and guidance on applying RITP with a real client. This ensures you practice skills immediately and receive expert feedback to achieve certification efficiently.
How much time will I need to commit each week?
3-Day Intensive: Approximately 6–7 hours per day for 3 days
Mentorship (for full certification): Varies depending on client application, typically 2 hours per week including coaching calls and client practice
What support is included?
- During the 3-Day Intensive: Live virtual support and recordings
- During the mentorship: Community of therapists, live coaching calls with Kokeb, and individual guidance on client application
Community support is only included if you enroll in the full certification (3-Day Intensive + 6-Month Mentorship).
